intro
A Review Platform is crucial in an Electronic Discovery (eDiscovery) project. It firstly provides a shared online Review Platform for all necessary stakeholders access to view the documents recovered for review. The review itself will take place on the Review Platform, reviewers can tag potentially relevant document and make notes during the review. Once the review has gone through at least two iterations to produce relevant documents, a production export can be created which may be necessary for regulatory or legal disclosure.
The Review Platform can be trained to bring potentially relevant documents to the forefront and identify non relevant documents. This is process is called Technology Assisted Review (TAR). It requires some effort to train the Review Platform what documents are in scope, once trained this can greatly reduce the time required to conduct a document review especially with thousands or even millions of documents.
